In cooperation with the Westerbork Memorial Centre, we invite guest speakers to tell about their experiences as victims of persecution during the Second World War. This could be, for example, a Jew who was imprisoned in various concentration camps and survived the inhumane treatment by the Nazis. Or people who resisted the German occupiers in the Netherlands, joined underground organisations and took a great personal risk. For the participants, an interview with a witness is always an encounter that leaves a lasting impression. The personal story brings historical events within reach and makes a connection between past and present. The aftermath of World War II in the lives of the eyewitnesses and how they dealt with it is also part of the conversation.
