The Red Hand Campaign is a worldwide protest supported by multiple organisations against the deployment of child soldiers. This workshop is about children that are forced to be soldiers in many countries all over the world even today. Why does this still happen? How are the children feeling? What rights do they have? Following the discussion, the participants have the opportunity to make their statement against the deployment of child soldiers by making a handprint with red paint. In various projects all over the world, the red handprints are being made and collected. Once a year, on the 12th of February – International Red Hand Day – they are given to UN representatives to give attention to the rights and protection of children.
